This fella found a hole in a manhole in a church in Kilmacud, maybe he was looking for divine inspiration. Well he certainly got noticed cos he kept on digging and pulling soil into the manhole blocking the sewer. Well not quite (poetic licence and all that), but a 64 meter long equivalent to 6 double decker buses amalgamation of fats and wet wipes has been found in a sewer in Sidmouth, England.
Fatbergs form when people put cooking oils and fats, nappies, wet wipes and sanitary products down the toilet. This fat berg is the largest discovered by the local council who estimate it will take 8 weeks to dissect this monster.
If you keep 1 new year resolution let it be not to pour fats, oil or grease down the drain or flush wet wipes down the toilet. The consequences can be significant including sewer flooding in you own home.

So after Dara dug out the clay, jetted out the lines/pipes and concreted in the pipes/rat-holes its a brand new manhole and its bye bye rats.

The tenant upstairs in this property in North Strand was oblivious to the fact that every time they flushed their loo it was dissappearing from their view but was re-surfacing up through the toilet downstairs. Alas the unit downstairs was un-occupied for a considerable period so nobody noticed events that were unfolding. The main sewer outlet was blocked so the waste had nowhere to go and found the easiest path....Read Full Article
